Russia’s Ministry of Health has “round table” discussion on scientific platforms in connection with preparing a development strategy for Russian medicine until 2025

“Before developing a strategy we must look at our goal: to define the directions of our domestic medical development, to organize our existing researches and plan our future researches”, - Andrey Vasilev, Deputy Director of the Department of Analysis, Forecast and Development of Public Health Services and Medical Science, said while opening the discussion of the first “round table”.

“The strategy won't contain concrete projects and financial mechanisms, it is the tool which defines the format of development for medical science in Russia as a whole, a basis for system forming”, - said Andrey Vasilev.

This “round table” has especially underlined that science doesn't independently exist in and of itself, all developmental work should be introduced in clinical practice and serve the health of real people.

“The modernization of public health services is underway and we are transitioning to a new technological level while taking into account those important trends which exist in a global science”, - Andrey Vasilev further underlined.

This strategy of medical science development is an important component of the governmental healthcare modernization program developed by the Ministry of Health.
